I've been on the hunt for some comfy seating for my office that will spice it up a bit but still maintain the ultra-feminine modern vibe that fits the image of C. Marie Signature Perfumes. When I saw
Moroso's Bouquet Chair, created by Tokujin Yoshioka, at the furniture fair in Milan, my heart started racing and I got that "had to have it" feeling. Unfortunately it was probably the single biggest hit at the show, so I'm guessing it will be a while before I can get my hands on one of these.
With a thin, chrome metal tube supporting a simple egg shaped shell, Yoshioka has hand sewn a bouquet of fabric squares to create a snug, and beautiful, chair. The chair evolved from a tissue installation created by Yoshioka at the 2007 show, where a wall of the showroom was covered by over 30,000 sheets of tissue. The chair's fabric squares, or petals, allow the chair’s user to feel embraced, evoking a similar feeling to that of receiving a bouquet of flowers. The petals of the chair are designed to return to their original form once a person stands up - just one of many details that make this creation such a great design.
