Supplement this with about a hundred computer files, lists in my trusty notebook, memos in my Palm Treo, and a plethora of mental notes, and you can start to see why 2007 is going to be a fantastic year for all of us working together to redefine the art of gift giving. Here is a smattering of current projects going on behind the scenes at Whirled Events, and of course you're invited to join our cause, because we definitely can't do it alone:- Redefine the art of gift giving, step 2. 2006 was the first year that Whirled Events was fully up and running, and while we're well on our way to changing the way people give gifts, we still have a long road ahead. Here at Whirled Events, we have dubbed 2007 as The Year of the Client. This year, it's all about you. I want to hear what you want, what you like, what you're dreaming about when it comes to gifts, what you dread, what you hate, and everything in between. We need your input, because our quest to change the way gifts are given can't happen without you.
- Clarify how we're redefining gift giving. In reviewing Year 1, I've realized that I can probably do a better job explaining my goals to all of you. I've mentioned that our objective here at Whirled Events is to redefine the art of gift giving, but be on the lookout for a well-defined mission statement and more ways for you to personally get involved in our cause.
- Improve our website. We're modifying our website, so be on the lookout for some fabulous changes in the months to come. Some of the new features will include personalized webpages for custom orders, a build-a-gift feature (think Build-A-Bear for presents), the ability to add voice recording to your gift boxes, and an entirely updated and fabulous gift selection. There will be ways for you to make your personal mark on every gift you purchase through our website, as well as plenty of opportunities to get involved in our online efforts.
- Expand wedding business. Plans are in the making to attend our first bridal show here in Houston, the Bridal Extravaganza. I've worked on several weddings, and it's high time that we start revamping the world of wedding favors. It's just another way for us to get the world to join our thoughtful gift-giving bandwagon.
- More traveling, more tours, more presentations, and (hopefully!) something in your town that will give us the chance to meet face-to-face. I'm making a much bigger effort to spread the gift giving love. If you have ideas of things you'd like to see and places where you think we can make an impact on the way people give gifts and celebrate one another, please let me know!
- Much, much more. The wheels are spinning and if you have any suggestions on what you'd like to see from what I hope becomes a really comprehensive gift resource, please drop me a note or leave your comments below - because we really need you on our team to make this whole thing work.
See? I told you it would be a big year - and this is just the beginning. Join forces, fellow gift givers!

Brad - be on the lookout for our ever-growing gift guide that will start up soon.
I -love- your diagram. Did you draw the sleek female figure yourself?
The girl in the diagram was actually created over at DesignHer Gals, a website that creates stationery and all sorts of fun products with drawings of people. Check it out...you can entertain yourself for hours and find some fabulous gifts. Thanks for your kind words!
Now that's a mind map... why do mine always end up with googlie eyes and lots of hearts and flowers... ah yes, I get lost in the thinking and then end up doodling or scribbling a bunch of lines I forget the purpose of! :D
You've got some excellent goals and it sounds like you all are in the heat of a fantastic strategic move to further your market position. Good luck to you! I'll look forward to seeing you alter the way gifts are given!
I found you off the ProBlogger predictions and reviews writing project.
